GPSProfile.JPG?width=300Graupner is a popular vendor of RC equipment here in Europe. I thought it would be great if we could use they telemetry protocol for ArduPilot. And here it is, HoTT v4 for use in ArduPilot for everyone. It's still fresh code and it's tested with ArduCopter v2.7 on APM2 only, but it works fine since few weeks. There are many possibilities to use HoTT in ArduPilot project, at least for people with HoTT RC equipment :)

For more details about HoTT and the implementation visit project homepage.

  • Hey Michael,

i dont think you will run into problems with 2.7.3. Give it a try! :)

  • Hi Adam, very intersting development you have performed. I'm analysing the code right now attempting to understand it. In your download section of your blog yo have a precompiled version 2.7.1. Is there anay reason why your HOTT functionLities would not work with the most recent firmware i.e. 2.7.3?

    Regards, Michel.
  • Thank you Fred!

We are currently working on textmode. You can check the latest version in the "textmode" branch on the project website (http://code.google.com/p/hott-for-ardupilot/source/list?name=textmode). Any improvement suggestions are welcome :)

  • Thanks for your work!

@Adam some new of this projet ? Do you want some help for dev  of text mode ?

    I use Hott MX-20 with GR-24 receiver.

  • Gonna give this a try probably. I haven't had my Graupner MX-20 for radio for very long, and so don't really know the details of how the operating system works for what needs to be replaced in order for this "hack" to work. basically my question is whether I need use a computer to reprogram the MX-20 when I want to switch between my Mikrokopter configuration and the (possibly) Arducopter set up? Is it possible to keep both setups stored and restorable via the removable microSD (or whatever the tiny card that can be inserted behind the battery bay of the transmitter using the menu system on board the transmitter??

    Thanks,
    Jonathan
  • I'm glad to hear that everything works. Thanks for your feedback Rolf!

  • Hi Adam,

nice work. Well done. No problems to build the firmware, no problems with the cable. I did some first tests this afternoon and it was promising.  I use Hott MX-20 with GR-24 receiver.

  • @Thomas: You are welcome! I'm very curious about your results. Ping me if you have any questions or need assistance.

  • Hi Adam

Thank you very much for your work. I'm using Mikrokopter-based Quadrocopters since years. Since last year, I also have Graupner HOTT RC equipment and enjoyed the HOTT telemetry implementation of Mikrokopter as it is quite useful to check for errors, number of satellites, distance etc. Currently, I'm building an APM2.0 based quadrocopter. Cool that I can use HOTT telemetry with my new quadrocopter. I will test your code with ArduCopter next week. Thanks a lot. ;-)

  • This is very useful, i'll alert to news on this blog
