  • Doesn't sound practical.  Too tight of tolerances required and aluminum is generally inferior to carbon fiber.

  • The CFRP is added to the Aluminium tube by glue (resin). And Aluminium tubes are connected using the inductive heating into one of them, increasing diameter and connecting. Returning to the ambient temperture, tubes become fixed. If a detachable union is nedded, you'll need an isolation film between tubes in order to ensure the temperture diferential when heating the outer one. Jonatan

  • Could you use more random acronyms and get rid of all the explanation next time?

    I take it that they're using inductive heating to induce heat in the carbon fibers, but to what end?  Melting the plastic together?
