A question related to the HK modems...
The "6-wire Pixhawk connector cable" that comes with the radio is NOT compatible with the cables that I can get from f.ex 3DR (the 3DR have "round pins" where the HK ones have "blade shaped pins".
Do any of you know a source of the cable that follows the HK modems, same length and number of pins ?
The HK modems only have one of the "6-wire Pixhawk connector cable" with each set, and I need one for both modems (so far for more than 50 modems in my case)
I tried asking HK, but not available from them...
If the assumption is correct that this is simply a HM-TRP with a PA, then you would just set the Tx Power to 20, which would correspond to 500mW. All the output power values would simply be increased by 7dBm.
Hi
How i can use the 500mW? In Mission Planner you can maximal adjustable the Tx Power only to "20" that corresponding at 100 mA at 20 dBm.. 500mW would to 25 or 30 but i i can not select this, 20 is max.!?
Thanks
Is 5000 bps telemetry usable at all?
I have tested the simlar hobbyking 500mW telemtry module which called RF4432D27. @9600bps the RF range is about 4000m in the open air. @19200bps or @38400bps the range is about 2000m long. The high data rate will decrease the range rapidly. LoRa run at low bit air data rate(@5000bps) which have much more range than FSK solution like hobbyking 500mW telemtry module. The most importance is the output power of the Lora module is 100mW compared 500mW FSK module.
Agree, We can't make the high data rate and also achieve the long range.
The lower the better if you want range.
19200 is a pretty low data rate for telemetry.
Hi Martin,
The communication distance result is test in the environment in the urban area. If the LoRa deploy in the open area or in the wild area, the distance is up to 12kilo meters long.
We have also tested both LoRa and FSK modules. The LoRa modulation is very impressive in the low data rate compared to the FSK modulation(RF4432). In the air data rate at 5000bps, FSK modulation is just 1km of the working distance(@100mW output). LoRa have more than 4 kilo meters long. The LoRa technology make the signal transmitting under enviroment noise. The sensitivity is up to -130dBm. The environment noise is -120dBm.
If the air data rate is up to 19200bps, the working distance is nearly the same both LoRa or FSK module.
