The Quanum i8 Radio was developed specifically for APM/PixHawk users. The dial has pre-set PWM positions that can be assigned by the user via Mission Planner software. Along with 2 sliders for gimbal control and 8 channels in total the Quanum i8 is a groundbreaking radio and the first radio system in the market developed specifically for Ardupilot users. The included receiver is also said to have simultaneous PWM and PPM output! Each position on the dial is indicated by one of the 6 LEDs on the top of the radio, a set of stickers to suit your mode selections will be included with each radio to customize your setup.

Easy on a Taranis, one 6 pos rotary switch and one 3 pos switch. The rotary is connected to the spare potentiometer input (s3). Set that up for the 6 flight modes. Then I have a 3 pos switch to select 3 different modes; 1st position is always Stabilize, 2nd position is whatever the 6 pos switch is set to, then RTL on the 3rd position.Works well for me. Positions 1 and 3 override the 6 position.
@Linus +1
@Hugues do you really want to fly a full blown ship with that transmitter ? Go for a Taranis if you need more than 8 channels.
8 channels only? Are you kidding? You need already the 8 channels for a basic setup without any add-ons like lidar, a third gimbal axis, a sonar, an EPM gripper, video and camera triggers, focus, etc
16 channels or nothing please.
This product can certainly attract RC enthusiasts of Ardupilot if surely placed under 20$.
Guy, I have found that 6 button arranged in 2 groups of 3, are fairly easy to train yourself to select a mode without having to look. Furthermore, I shroud 2 of the buttons, to make them even more distinct. These are usually my bailout modes, Acro and RTL.
"Coming soon", where have I heard that statement before, Kickstarter? LOL.

same for me, i thought they were buttons, you're right, they should be
Rob, I naturally assumed the 6 LED's where buttons until your comment made me look again. What a bummer, I was pretty much ready to order one.
