HobbyKing has recently updated their web site making it more difficult to hone in what you are looking for. I was trying to see what was available for 4s lipos, but it was so convoluted that I became frustrated and gave up. Before the web site update it was a simple task to filter 4s lipos and have a long list of what was available shown on the page to see what was available. Now you have to use several sliders to filter with and there are only a few listings per page. You have to go through numerous pages to see what is available.

Why does the "New Items" section now show mostly "OUT STOCK" items ??

No longer very good for browsing for new items !

They now seem to be aware of it and are working on the problems:  Stuart Warne writes:

Hi Guys. Just a quick note. I'm told that there are MANY bugs in the new site and those above and similar reported are just a handful of them. Whilst this SUCKS right now, it will be corrected and the new site will only continue to improve until soon it will be better than before I am told.

I went off Hobbyking when they deliberately deleted many negative comments on their counterfeit Pixracer product page before eventually taking it off their website. (http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/pixracer-now-available-from-hob...)

Have been buying from other sources whenever I can.

Time will tell if the new system helps or harms their bottom line.

  • I looked at their new "Product Finder" selections for batteries, motors, servos and props.

Generally I think they are / can be useful, but it would have been better if they didn't force you to use that system and had left their normal selection process as it was before.

Hobbyking did always have a intuitive and relatively easy to use selection system that rapidly let you home in on what product you might want, this new system will work OK for some things, but definitely not as well for others.

It definitely does not make it as easy to compare individual features of similar products as easily as the original method.

The list they give you only shows a few of the most significant features, so you could easily miss what for you could be the main determining characteristic(s).

I welcome the new system, but not as much as I am going to miss the old system.

    Best regards,

    Gary
