Actually, right after my forst post, the machine went into hyperdrive and zipped back and forth grabbing components and inserting them faster than I could follow.

Even with this burst of speed, it still loked like it would take an hour to assemble each ArduPilot.
  • That did seem really slow. Maybe it's okay for Sparkfun because they mostly just do breakout boards with low component counts. I like the system that Jhon posted.
  • nice !
that one is quite better, so high speed!

  • It takes a UAV to build a UAV. That machine is friggin slow. China must have millions of those machines running 24 hours to feed our gadget needs.

Facinating...I feel quilty paying so little for each Ardupilot board now that I watched them being assembled!
I wasn't sure what each step was doing, it seemed tediuos and long drawn out for each board.

I could assume some of the processes, while others were beyond me.
For instance I could identify the parts picker, etc. but not other steps.
Still looks like quite abit of human input in the assembly, despite the machinery.

Amazing system, -impressive that this machine assembles all those different boards listed on the schedule.

P.S. The guy with the tattoos needs to take something for that cold of his.
