Hi all,
I have a TBS Discovery for some time now, very good quad.
But when I saw arriving Discovery Pro I said I want it!
I almost had a heart attack.
So I decided to custom mine.
I had to make a well-considered simple and removable system.
So I bought a cheap gimbal for testing, this:
Here is my first test, I posted there some time.
Considering the quality of the nacelle (plug & play), I decided to keep it and modify it to TBS.
I wanted to have a system in line with the Discovery, so I got started in the measurement and design to allow this.
I removed the unnecessary things.
Then I printed my adaptation in 3d printing.
The advantage of this system, I unscrew a screw and two cables unplugged, gimbal power supply and servo wire gimbal, and I can remove the gimbal to go for a real FPV flight.
That the Discovery Pro does not allow, because the gimbal is unremovable.
I am very satisfied of results.

Yes all standart PID setting.
Best regards
Hey Polak! I am so doing this for my discovery! But my Makerbot printer is ready to print, can you post the files for the tbs mount and the vibration dampeners? That would be amazing! Thanks for helping and making a alternative to a super expensive TBS Pro.

Hello Polak74, really nice job.
I have a custom servo drived gimbal on my discover, and it weight only 70g including servos.
I was also looking for a cheaper brushless gimbal and your work inspired me, so I ordered also a "cheap" brushless gimbal.
I have 2 questions:
What is the weuight of your system?
the gimbal is described for PRO only, no manual that is fine for me that is my field of expertise, but does it come with a software to interface the micro usb connector I see on the photo?
Again, nice job.
PS: I guess we are nearly neighbours...

If you want to print one without vibration dampening I found this.... (not my design)
And another Nicer looking one : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:101698
I also would love the files for the one with dampening....
my tbs discovery pro is on it's way and i already have a tarot t-2d gimbal waiting for it. i also have a 3d printer ready to go. i have been waiting for the quad before really starting to design how to mate the two, i really like your design. could you send a link or post the 3d print (.stl or whatever) files you used to print your parts? nice work. if you want i could make some drawings for you that you could share with others who want to follow your lead - if so, PM me and we can talk.
