This is an amazing price for a very capable multicopter flight controller board with GPS: just $65!
The MultiWii team has been using the ArduCopter code to add navigation elements to what used to be just an RC controller (the board is based on the same Atmega2560 processor as APM). This looks like a great opportunity to see how well it works. Ordered!
It looks like the main differences between this board and APM 2.5 (aside from size, connectors and enclosure) are:
- No secondary processor for RC interface/failsafe
- Older sensors (more like the ones used in the original APM 1.0)
- No datalogging
Still, an amazing price and great way to get started with the MultiWii software.
From the product listing:
The MultiWii PRO is a gyro/accelerometer based flight controller that is loaded with features. This version of the MultiWii supports direct connection of a GPS module (package includes MTK 3329 GPS module) allowing for ultra-precise positioning functionality. With expandability options and full programmability, this device can control just about any type of aircraft. This is the ideal flight controller for your multi-rotor aircraft.

hey i tried to use the ardupilot but it doesn't compile, some help please!
The all in one Pro V2 is available at Rctimer for same price as V1 at GLB and has a data flash
and can run megapirate Ng ( data flash function is not in ng but can be added )
Would it be possible to transparently add I2c mpu 6050 to arducopter so it could be used with PPM and Mpu 6050 on allinone ?
The MPNG has the I2c MPU @ V2.8 and I am curious if 2.9 inertial nav changes can be incorporated
newbie. if it is a clone of http://www.smartdrones.de/collections/flight-controls/products/mult..., which soft with gps can be upload?
thanx
I guess copied from this one.
I ordered one crius aiop now to test. It looks great and at a very fancy price. Also, ordered a ublox lea 6 with sarantel antena to see if it's more sensible (it should be) and less prone to loosing lock. I guess that with all the new sensors available today with greater resolutions, the way to go is 32bit like AC32 project and take advantage of the faster processors with floating point capabilities, wich will need faster 500hz ESCs.
Kabir, I already accepted your friend request, couple of days back. You may send your message.
Some similar boards with ATMega 2560 (capable of ArduPlane and Arducopter being ported over):
http://www.cuav.net/store/product.php?id_product=11 (yet to compare)
http://www.diymulticopter.org/ (similar board shape and connectors to APM 1)
http://www.goodluckbuy.com/scrc-crius-all-in-one-pro-v1-0-multi-cop...(H/W best as compared to APM 2)
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1455433 (everything on one board; GPS too!)
http://flyduino.net/Flyduino-MEGA-Flight-Controller-CPU-Board
Perhaps we could do a post on a H/W comparison. I'd do it, but exams.... No time.
@ Rana, need to talk, sent you a friend request.
Thanks Rana, saw those links already, inspected the code before. I just need a board to do whatever minor modifications to the code are necessary.
Problem is that the board is out of stock on HK, but if someone were to lend/rent/give me a board, I'd be happy to port the software!
Kabir
Because all the sensors and the microcontroller is the same, very less efforts required by a regular developer.
JLN already ported Arduplane2.6 and Arducopter2.7

Even a normal person with little bit hand-son experience on Arduino IDE can do it, Guide to port the firmware can be found here.
We just need JLN to port ArduPlane/Arducopter to this!!
