  • That kind of thing has been on my mind for a while - can think of a ton of uses for it here on earth - let alone in space or underwater!

    I guess the thing with human like arms on robots is that if a human has to tele-operate it then many more degrees of freedom become useless unless you can use modifiers or specific actions (for example, I can see it being easy just to rotate at the wrist through 360 instead of having to manipulate the whole hand by just toggling a direction or making a certain gesture.).

  • Nice! Maybe that could be usable for a satellite repair unit. I wonder why those robots in the video look so human style - everybody that wanted to change the lightbulbs in a modern car knows that it would be much easier if his arm had a few joints more.....
