Good news for those who wanted the APM 2.5+ with side pins (best for multicopters): they're now available fully assembled in the enclosure, with the usual GPS and Power Module (shown). No more connector soldering required!
We're also offering APM 2.5+ kits with the 3DR telemetry pack, in both 915Mhz (US) and 433Mhz (Europe) versions, and both side-pin and top-pin varieties.
- APM 2.5+ (top entry) w/ 915Mhz 3DR radio set
- APM 2.5+ (side entry) w/ 915Mhz 3DR radio set
- APM 2.5+ (top entry) w/ 433Mhz 3DR radio set
- APM 2.5+ (side entry) w/ 433Mhz 3DR radio set
In addition, we're having an End of Year sale of Ready-to-Fly ArduCopters and Arduplanes. You can take $50 off the already-discounted holiday prices of any RTF vehicle by using the discount code RTF05. That brings their prices down to:
RTF 3DR ArduPlane ($500)
RTF 3DR ArduCopter Quad ($550)
RTF 3DR ArduCopter Hexa ($715)
Finally, check out some of the other sale items at the 3DR store, including $15 off the MinimOSD board and a new lower price for the PX4 AR.Drone replacement kit, which allows you to turn your Parrot AR.Drone into a real drone!

I've added a page to the manual with frequency tips. I've also posted on it here. Please make corrections/suggestions!
10-4. I'll shoot in my top pin order with fastest shipping option tomorrow. Its gonna be shipping to CA so fingers crossed that it'll hit my doorstep before the 14th. Thanks for confirming! I was worried.
Stamus: It depends on which shipping option you choose and how far it needs to go. But if it's in the US and you choose the fastest shipping option it shouldn't be a problem. I think the top-pin APMs will ship a day or two before the side-pins this week.
Hi @chris anderson
Can you take a look at my previous post and let me know about the shipment schedule? That would be much appreciated!

I have xbees on 900 mhz because I really wanted to have good telemetry, but I also have a 900 mhz video transmitter. I haven't really used both at the same time a good distance away.. 1000 feet.. this is why I was looking at getting the 433 mhz radios. The more i'm looking I'm finding all sorts of things on transmission durations duty time, max db's.. all sorts of info..
Chris, I saw that guide years ago, the time has flown by.. Updating that and either reposting or adding it under the telemetry options on the wiki would be useful perhaps. Even under the getting started. Buying gear that's based on frequencies is pricey and usually only done once, for me anyway, and is something to flesh out in in the very beginning of this hobby.
thanks!
Alex, we posted one a while ago here, but it needs to be updated with the latest gear/frequencies. I'll add that to the manual this weekend.
Mike, This is good info..
Is there a APM/3DR guide that lays out the guidelines for both the rules/policies of the frequencies and a basic programming guide? Even something simple that sums it up. It could be a good defense should anyone get upset with being able to purchase different frequencies just by adding to cart. I've been all over the site and others and they basically mention not to have more than one band for each piece.. IE.. video and tele on seperate frequencies but nothing that says "to use this in the US, you must have X and program Y" ect.......
I could easily purchase this on 433 and not know anything..
You *might* be the only person at your local park or flying field with a 3DR radio right now, maybe, but not for long....
Then basically, no. In point of fact, even a ham license requires that you properly program the 433Mhz, you should not use either of the telemetry modules in its stock configuration. At the very least, one should change it up so that your flying buddy does not step on your telemetry stream, or take command of your UAV....
See http://www.ntia.doc.gov/files/ntia/publications/2003-allochrt.pdf for more (very basic) information on Frequencies. Consult a local HAM group for more information.
I do not. I've thought about persuing one a few times but never did.
