hear is what's happening next-
this is a conceptual model. next come aerodynamic refinements then comes the structural design.
I have been working on a 2 axis 360 degree constant rotation gimbal to go along with the new fuselage. I plane to start an open source progect for the gimbal its self I was thinking about calling it "open gimbal"
It will use common servos with a constant rotation hack and 12bit magnetic encoders and $15 slip rings.
here is an example of the servo and encoder in action.

Ya that's the idea. I was just going to have molds made for the fuse.
Robert, looks like i have a bad address for you. I will send you an email.
still waiting for my kickstater order.
do the international have been shipped?
Wayne,
may I suggest a different clear dome position for this new (very interesting) head design.
On the provided image:
A - Is the initial dome position
B - The red line shows the downwards & afterwards limitation angle because of the fuselage.
C - Is the same with the clear dome slightly tilted upward of this unuseful reag angle of (un)-view
D - Idem
E - Is the resulting clear dome position that could also allow a slightly better forward view.
I'm really looking for this 2.0 version.
And thanks for all the great work you've done.
Jean-Philippe
dave, the idea is to have the gimbal look forward if you want to FPV with it.
@ dave G
I will be testing and if that is a problem I will do something to fix the problem.
@ Alex
got killercando working on a full composite version. he will have a test model up in flying in a week or two.
ya was looking at the ones on rctimer where is the driver hardware? could be an interesting alternative to servos for sure.needs to be very compact and light. some of the motors are way to big for this setup. will have to research further.
thanks Jack!
