17140-main%281%29.jpgFrom their website:

The HobbyKing OSD Combo is a quick and easy way to add a wealth of on screen information to your FPV system. With GPS coordinates, airspeed, voltmeter, temperature, and many more display functions this OSD unit will make a great addition to any FPV setup at a fraction of the cost of other GPS OSD systems currently available. It even includes an IR sensor and remote control for wireless function control.

An excellent new feature of this system is the "home direction" indicator which works as follows:
"If more than 10KM/H or equivalent in MPH speed is measured by the GPS for not less
than half of a second, the system will switch the operating mode from “Landed” mode to
“Taken-Off” mode. The system will always compare between the current position
coordinate and the position measured in “Landed” mode, and calculate the “Home
Direction”, hence advises the pilot where the plane took off referencing to the current flying
heading. If you are lost during the flight, you may always fly back to the take-off
location by the referencing of home direction arrow."

OSD Display Features:
Timer
Date
Temperature
Power battery voltage
Power battery gauge
Power battery current
Power battery consumed energy
GPS status
Position Coordinate
Main Sea Level Altitude
Compass
Direction heading
Home direction
Relative altitude
Altitude scale

Specifications:
Weight: Main board - 17g / Power module - 23g

    Great!
I am used to the couple extra weeks shipping time it takes for international orders to get here in Northern Canada, so the 3-4 weeks wasn't unusual, just heightened my worry about being cancelled.

There were several members who told of getting the bad news only after having contacted HK customer service about the B/o, so I agreed with Morli's advice to sit back and hope for the best.

All in all it was an interesting chapter in the ongoing APM adventure.
  • @Sgt Ric ......."Thanks to @Morli who advised against contacting HK's customer service dept and give them the opportunity to give me the bad news."

i contacted hk support and still received mines 2 weeks before you did.. haha, seems like contacting them just gave them the opportunity to try and change the order but they seem to have honored all orders except for the people that went in and cancelled on their own (assumption).....

No disrespect meant to Jordi and the DiyDrones store... HK's elcheapy OSD will only used on my 2 FPV EZs, NOT my big APM bird!

Terrific news... I rec'd the OSD combo today!
Amazing that HK actually honoured the sale for the several of us who jumped on the post when it first appeared and before they realized their obvious mistake and pulled the listing. I really thought they would cancel my order like they did most everyone else's.
Thanks to @Morli who advised against contacting HK's customer service dept and give them the opportunity to give me the bad news.

Great deal on a full OSD and all the sensors, cables, GPS, and remote for $ 55.00! Makes me wish I had ordered several more... No more moving systems between planes!

Great thread over on RCG about this Apache package from AEO.

My status changed to shipped as well!

I have received several ship notifications, but 10 days later, still waiting.

(normal wait from anything from China is about 10-14 days, so I am not worried.

It will be great to see this package deal arrive for this price!

  • Hey!!!!! My status changed from back ordered to shipped sometime lastnight.... I will surely do a review with flight video for diydrones once it comes in

My order still shows paid & backorder, but no indication of cancellation like they told @Hans when he called them.

    Right.
It'll probably resurface again soon with the higher price.
That'll put it more in line with the other OSD solutions out there now.

    NOooooo!

I was hoping a few got through before it was dropped, but it's obviously not the case... shoot!

Looked too good to be true - esp since the distributor sells the sensors and even the GPS modules each for more than what HK advertised the whole package!

     Darn!
