Our new airframe, Voyager

Some of you might remember the bigger version of this, the Voyager is 1.2m in wingspan, autopilot, RC receiver esc and motor all stay in the centre section attached to the wing and battery and whatever you want in the nose. There is 2lt of space in there. Its early days, only 6 ot so flights but it flew and we took it home in one piece!!I have some video but I'm out the door real flying now.Oh for ballast purpose we added 200g of weight, it could have lifted much more, the target is 500g.

  • Very nice - Gary..... Looks like similar flight aspects of a EZG but in a bigger form...
  • Nice design, like how you separated the r/c & attopilot gear from the payload area. How is the wing attached? must be very well secured. Any close ups of that area?

Yes we are very lucky Condor! The EPP is for that drier place down south that you know ;-)

Nice. I cannot get over how green it is there I wish I had a spot to fly like that!
  • Looking nice Gary, loads of space for those ever tweaking fingers in there :) You going to get to 500g payload in there, got enough prop and wing for that?

Thanks Mark and Bryan, yep the tail is stiff enough, its much shorter than the last one, it does have ailerons, they need stiffening up I think.
  • Lookin good Gary! Did you get the tail boom stiff enough?
I can't tell from the pictures; does she have ailerons?

This looks like a good crash survivor, with large EP bumper in front! As you fly with more payload it will eventually have a high speed landing or stall at low altitude. Keep us posted and also report any damages. I bet you will only need tape and Goop to fix!!
