Bryan Cuervo commented on Pete Hollands's blog post MatrixPilot 3.1 Released
"Pete,
Thanks for representing "MatrixPilot" with a systems architecture schematic. With the phenomenal growth of this autopilot, it's hard to keep up. The schematic helps me get a grip on the big picture.

Bryan Cuervo commented on Jesse's blog post A simple INS - the beginnings
"Jesse,
I've been playing around with an Arduino uno, sensors and geared DC motors to create an inverted pendulum.  I just looked at your web page and your basic information on attitude sensor reading/conversion will be a big help. Searching the inte…"

Bryan Cuervo commented on Thomas J Coyle III's blog post AMA Member versus R/C Beginner
"That was hillarious TCIII.
Reminds of the time we were slope soaring off the beach dunes in Florida and a man came up and asked us if his 10 year old son could take a turn at it.

Bryan Cuervo commented on Pete Hollands's blog post Testing a DIYDrones magnetometer in HK's GCS
"Well,
I just tried running the same test again and I couldn't get the serial connection. I had to go into the Vista device manager and disable/enable the com port and that did the trick."

Bryan Cuervo commented on Pete Hollands's blog post Testing a DIYDrones magnetometer in HK's GCS
"Hi pixhawk,
I was using COM port 9 on my Vista laptop and getting data on the debug console window.
I just tried it again and it's working. My only guess is I was doing the wrong sequence of operations?
It didn't work on my first three tries. If I f…"

"Pete,
I just ran qgrouncontrol on my desktop running XP and it worked. Mystery solved....
Here's a pic of Mag output deviation when a magnet was placed nearby.

Bryan Cuervo commented on Pete Hollands's blog post Testing a DIYDrones magnetometer in HK's GCS
"Pete,
Data is arriving in the comm window and when I click on Hex I get the numbers.
The coloured check boxes don't appear (the whole graph window doesn't appear) unless I click on simulated data and then click the simulated data box again.
No numbe…"

Bryan Cuervo commented on Pete Hollands's blog post Testing a DIYDrones magnetometer in HK's GCS
"Hi Pete,
Unfortunately the numbers are not changing next to the check boxes. Also, I've tried clicking on "ground clock".
Happy,
An option to display raw sensor data on your GCS sounds great. Looking forward to trying it out when it's ready.
Thanks…"

Bryan Cuervo commented on Pete Hollands's blog post Testing a DIYDrones magnetometer in HK's GCS
"Well Pete,
I downloaded qgroundcontrol and the Mavlink branch of Matrixpilot, set the options.h serial to Mavlink per your video tutorial, set the com port and baud rate and got serial coming into the GCS from Matrixpilot. The problem is I couldn't…"

Bryan Cuervo commented on Pete Hollands's blog post Testing a DIYDrones magnetometer in HK's GCS
"Pete,
Looks like Mavlink would be the way to go so I could see the live mag. output and there wouldn't have to be any postprocessing and trying to sinc "position with error" later. That's also a great idea to log a flight and see in FLAN if the plan…"

Bryan Cuervo commented on Pete Hollands's blog post Testing a DIYDrones magnetometer in HK's GCS
"Hi Pete,

Have you experienced any error (deviation) based on where you place the magnetometer or when the motor is running?
I was thinking of running a test where everything is hooked up outside of the plane and there is a serial connection with a…"

You asked, "So MartixPilot is working well for you?".
MatrixPilot works very well for me. I've documented my experiences in a few blogs including here. Also, as you have recently experienced, the technical support from the guys like Pete, Bill,…"

"This is fantastic HK!
I've got MatrixPilot running HILSIM to XPLANE so I'm going to try and run your GCS during a simulation.
I've been following all of your work in the past two years and really appreciate all of the time you have contributed to ou…"
