"Hi Tom, good to hear from you.
Thanks. Yes, that was me.
About the hardware, it's a pity UDB5 is no longer in production.
And Yes, I've seen the soaring feature, I'm even following the discussions about it. It's cool.

"Hi Chris,

The UAV Dev Board from Spark Fun has been retired. The UDB5 is an open source hardware design, and some members of the group are fabricating new boards using MicroFab.
You can still buy an AUAV3 Dev Board from Nick Arsov: International…"

GliderUAV commented on Andrew Rabbitt's blog post Climb-Glide: Improving the range of fixed-wing, electric UAVs
"Hi Andrew,
I agree, there will be for efficiency gained for reasonable e-gliders. I've attempted to calculate this with MotoCalc, which can calculate motor at any throttle setting, as well as aircraft size and profile. Also, i tried to optimise for…"

Hi,MatrixPilot got upgraded with the helical turn method. I changed my code to follow this development. To add the auto land function, i needed better brake control. After that i created the auto landing script. The codebase has moved to Git. My code…

GliderUAV replied to GliderUAV's discussion A.T.V. Autonomous Thermalling Vehicle
"Hi. I had a nice flight I want to share with you.
First of all, my compliments to Bill for making helical turns a reality in MatrixPilot. Control is much smoother now. When in auto mode, i can use fly by wire to guide the glider to a new thermal if i…"

GliderUAV replied to GliderUAV's discussion A.T.V. Autonomous Thermalling Vehicle
"Hi hft seeker,

An ultralight could be controlled by MatrixPilot. However, if you want to use LOGO, as I did, the range you are looking for may be an issue.
Maybe this is usefull:
MatrixPilot range
You could post a question about this on the MP…"

GliderUAV left a comment for Jason Westervelt
"flightplan-logo.hHi Jason,
I've looked at the changes I made since March. Not much has changed in the code irt the mission logic. I did find some problems with overshoots. This can happen when LOGO takes too long to do calculations. Then the plane…"

GliderUAV commented on Trent at MyGeekShow's blog post MyGeekShow - Building the Solar UAV Prototype
"Trent,
Good luck with this new project.
Just a short comment. You say you want to fly as slow as possible, but that may not be best. I don't have proof but I have a feeling that optimal airspeed depends on airframe, motor efficiency and climb…"
