The plane will look like this:

The model are made in glassfiber and balsa:More info on the OWL will come in the near future!A new Platform based on the Multiplex Alfa 2100 are on the Drawing board.Modified as a pusher.Wingspan 2.1MVery stabel platformGood for payload.

A new pusher prototype is also on the drawing board. It's based on the Multiplex Alfa 2100

The fusalage will look something like this.

My Alfa is a very stable platform, which I hope can be transferred to the pusher platform.

BTW still working on the OWL, bad weather are also a big problem this time a year in Scandinavia.
  • CG should not be a problem, flying the plane from outside it is the problem but I am working on that

  • Your project looks very exciting. I can hardly wait to see some video. How are you thinking about attaching your camera dome and are you going to articulate the dome or the camera inside the dome? I've picked up a couple of domes at Fry's to try but they distorted the picture more than I wanted.

Hope you can post some video soon

    Good luck.
  • The ScanEaglet needed 6 degrees of washout (60" wingspan) to reduce porpoising
  • I've done some prelim work for elevons using BS2. Jordi has a routine for elevon control in his code but it's listed as "not tested"

    Here's my BS2 routine:
    Send_Servos:
    PULSOUT RflapOUT, center_aileron - (center_elevator-elevator) + ((center_aileron - aileron) / mix)
    PULSOUT LflapOUT, center_aileron + (center_elevator-elevator) + ((center_aileron - aileron) / mix)
    RETURN
  • Anyone working on elevon control for arduino?
  • Oh one other question? What airfoil did you use for the wings ?
  • Looks great. The landings will be kind of tough with the wings that long. Is the fuselage reinforced at the bottom to handle the landings on the fuselage bottom ? It looks really really nice Hooks :)

The wing and winglet will of cause be easyly removable. It need to be good for transport.
  • Are the wings and winglets easily removable? Something like this would really need to pack down for me, especially with the winglets being so big.
