Pixhawk params were tuned (but strangely enough I do not find anymore the Low_Volt param I had previously on APM. I only find a way to enter this parameter via the battery monitor GUI - weird), ESCs were calibrated, the FPV POD was bench tested succesfully, the Accel, compass calibrations are done.

I still need now attach propellers , then run a compassmot, calibrate current & voltage and I will be good to go !

Stay tuned for maiden flight...

Weather is still bad with rain and wind but I could not wait anymore to test the effect of these vibration dampeners on this design. So I just did a quick hover just to measure Z accel and here is the result:

3692944607?profile=originalZ accell excursion during a windy hover is on overage much less than 0,05g which I guess is excellent.

Hope to have better weather soon for more than just a hover hop...so frustrating.

3691096087?profile=originalJust finished two compassmot runs. I could not believe my eyes so I did it twice to be sure : O% interferences!

I'm waiting now to have a suitable weather to maiden flight...

    Thx.

John, Velcro is surprisingly strong: I can sack very strong the prop protection with my hand, it does not budge.

    Will do some videos.

  • Very nice build! Would it be better to mount the protection rings more firmly to the booms so that they can protect the props? It seems like if it bumps into something they will be knocked off easily and would be rendered useless and may even get mangled by the props.

  • Cool and creative. Prop strike deterrence and motor isolation are good things. Upward and onward!

  • Very sweet! I love the simplicity yet brilliance of the prop protectors. Look forward to seeing her in action.
