  • I agree Chuck, and this is why I am glad commercial platforms are priced much higher than amateur systems.  You either have a lot of time or a lot of money (or both!) in a system, which hopefully keeps the inhibitions high.  Makes me think of a Texas(?) Sheriff Dept that crashed their $400,000 unmanned helicopter on its maiden flight into their armored personnel carrier.

  • Thank you for your comment Chuck, I could not agree more. I just made a comment @ a photo contest and some of the places they want people to photograph. people better know where they are flying, and what the rules are.

  • While I love seeing quads start to flood into the market, I just cringe to think of all the inexperienced people that will be operating these devices over our heads and without similar restraint shown in the community. This article does a good job of highlighting the different tiers, though I wish we saw more of the "Hey these things are not dummy proof" that a lot of the marketing has been aimed at recently.
