On Instructables I found a very nice project of a storage/carrying case of a quadcopter.
It also have the DFX file available, but I the dimensions depend on size of your copter, so might have to be adapted to fit the jDrone or the 3D copter.
Another carrying case I remember is the ArduPirates coffin: probably a safer way to bring the copter around, all wrapped and safe in all that foam, even if a bit less nicely crafted.
Has anyone else built custom cases for bringing their quad around?

Here's my Coffin inspired quad box.
Fits a jDrones quad with props on (usually throw in a couple of spares just in case!).
Just some hardboard and instrument foam but keeps it all from knocking about in the back of the car. P
It's not really DIY, but when I changed my frame I wanted to get a case to easily carry all my stuff.
Since the new frame was slightly less long and slightly wider than the arducopter frame v1, I found this case which was a perfect fit: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/829100-REG/Ape_Case_ACHC5700_...
I believe it's made to contain photo equipment.
If you look at my "HT-FPV Build" photo album, you can see some pictures:
As you can probably see, pick-and-pluck foam isn't really the best for complex shapes and diagonal lines. I might change it for more classic foam padding that I can cut to the exact contour of the frame. I've made some modifications since this picture was taken; for example, the props now have their own recessed grooves under the quadcopter (the big items you can see take up just about half the depth of the foam, so smaller items can fit under them)
The case neatly fits all the gear I need to go to the field:
- The quadrocopter with mounted GoPro
- Transmitter
- Fatshark goggles
- 3x 2200 mAh 3S batteries
- 4x propellers
- Some extra room for spare parts and small tools
It's also got key-locks to prevent curious people from looking when I have my back turned (I don't expect much more from them though). All around I'm very happy, it seems pretty solid, it gets the job done, I can carry it in multiple ways (handle, shoulder strap or roller cart) and it looks sleek and generic.
The only downside is that the quad doesn't fit with props attached. That's not much of a downside though considering how much bigger the case would need to be to accommodate them; it's already quite hefty.
Very pretty box!
Now if it could transform into a field platform for holding gear, batteries, PCs, antennas for FPV... where's Ben Heck when you need him?
