Radar/Laser altimeter for DJI M210/M210V2

Hi,

we implemented radar/laser altimeter support for DJI M210/M210V2 drones (in addition to previously supported M600/M600Pro/A3).

Set consists of UgCS SkyHub onboard computer, radar or laser altimeter, set of cables and software.

In general, we recommend using a radar altimeter (finally we selected http://en.nanoradar.cn/Article/detail/id/372.html).

After 2 years of practice and feedback from our customers, we decided that laser altimeters have too many restrictions - they don't work reliable under the bright sun, light fog, over water.

Internally the system is pretty complex (diagram for A3 is below, for M210 is pretty the same), but it works :)

  • You will need UART-USB adaptor to connect altimeter to Manifold, and everything should work. If you can send me your email, I'll send you a quote.
  • Hi, I have the x86 version.
  • Hi, should work. Do you have GPU or x86 version?
  • Hi,

on our Matrice 600 PRO we have installed the onboard computer DJI Manifold 2....it's possible use the Manifold to install the altimeter insteand of add also the sky hub?

    Thank you.
  • Hi, yes. We supply a set with a radar altimeter and onboard computer.

  • hello,

is it possible to connect this radar to the fly computer, when you want to fly 2m over different level terrain.

with just flying the drone forward.

  • Thank you, Thomas. Yes, it was a mistake, I corrected text.

We have 1.5 years :). And as we understand all our users will be able to use existing devices.

BTW, we will start experiments with 77 GHz radar in a couple of weeks.

  • Do you mean LASER altimeters have "issues"? I don't think RADAR would have any problem with light, for, or water! Must be an error in your write-up!

Additionally, the 24GHZ band use by RADAR is sunsetting, and the band will not be available for RADAR after 1 January 2022. Surely you know that!

    Have a nice day!
