With apologies for the late notice, I and a few other DIY Drones developers will be flying in Concord, in San Francisco's East Bay, starting at 2:30 pm. Any Bay Area folks who want to spend Super Bowl Sunday outside in gorgeous weather, rather than watching a football game on TV, are welcome to join us. We'll be testing the latest ACM code on quads, and testing the latest APM code on Skywalkers and other aircraft, to check how various GPS modules behave in auto mode.
The location is in the large open public park at the end of Court Lane in Concord, here. Anyone from this community is welcome to join us. You can bring something to fly or just watch UAV development up close. Crashes are likely!

Hi Chris,
This looks like it was fun! I'd like to attend one of these. How far in advance do you typically schedule them?

@Mark - the meetup is more irregular rather than regular, but ping Chris and I'm sure he'll drop you a line. We usually get a day or two's notice at the moment. 8)
Now I know why I am moving to Florida from North Texas when I retire in two years. I used to live in California, but moved to Texas because of my job. I shoveled 1 foot of snow out of my drive way on Saturday and I only live 40 air miles from Dallas. I can deal with Hurricanes as you can see them coming. Tornados are another story. They come out of nowhere. All you can do is build a tornado shelter in your home. Mine is big enough for the wife, me and the cats and is made out of 1/4 steel plate bolted to the concrete slab. Probably will not have decent flying weather until the spring as I am usually at work when the weather is good for flying!
Regards,
TCIII
Darn, I was planning on coming out at 3:30 to fly with the Concord Model Engineers, and then got waylaid by family to watch the game with them!
Is there a regular meet-up of ardupilots in the East Bay?
