Think of the things you could write or draw! It's a software project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/946052725/telaero-drone-flight-planner-for-precision-imagery
The next step will be to add multiple LEDs of different colors that can be toggled by the GPIO pins on your autopilot so you can draw amazing 3D structures!

sweet!
Google Earth + Sketchup + Blender + your favorite GCS is one workflow that works pretty well.
This isn't at all about the skywriting.
It's about a project to do camera shot pre-planning for an automated camera "dolly" route for our multicopters.
It is a very interesting concept and certainly significant to this group.
Aside from that, I do think you could manage an interesting skywriting technique using the persistence phenomenon if you extended a mast with individually controllable LEDs on it sticking up from a quadcopter.
Then fly the quadcopter horizontally in front of the intended audience while sequencing the image to the leds on the mast.
Somebody already has a bicycle spoke one that displays messages in the bicycle spokes, so why not.
Best,
Gary
I want to see the video of the multirotor making that sky writing pattern displayed in the banner. Do you have that?
