Smallest quadcopter ever?

Hi

I just wanted to share my new Quadcopter I have put together.

 Specs

35mm x 35mm frame
8.2 grams all up
5ch full control including lights on and off
Parts
Hubsan x4 control board
4off 4x12mm coreless motors
30mm props
Control is with my Spectrum DX6i using an interface module, this plugs into the trainer port of the DX6i and sends the correct signal to the quadcopter.

Details here of module

  • Hi. I  am looking for an indoor drone, with the ability to spray water. Any ideas ? Thx.

  • I would love a small lightweight APM board, I wonder if its possible to shrink it down and use a smaller GPS.

I think with the current sized APM a 200mm x 200mm sized quad is possible but not much less.
  • Do so, not do do... Mobile device error.
  • Veikko...at the risk of stepping on toes, I think there is a limit to how small APM 2.5 or PX4 could go, merely based on size of the boards. Bigger than this would be my guess. Not much though! As far as GPS enabled quads not using the systems you have listed (MWC comes to mind) there are people making quads not much bigger than this. If the 3DR team would like to hook me up with a new PX4 board, I will gladly push the limits of size. As it stands, I may do do anyway after the new year.I have Christmas presents to buy first.
  • I appreciate you putting together an instruction page on how to build the adapter module. Let' s say I had worked up a more hacked up solution to interface the radio for the Hubsan. Haha.
  • I used a Hubsan to repeat the fotokite demo seen in this post: http://www.diydrones.com/m/blogpost?id=705844%3ABlogPost%3A1438419

    And, my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysLiRg8Hqzg&feature=youtube_gda...
  • Brilliant! I may have to try a similar build using a Hubsan camera quad. I like the Hubsan quads for these small projects.
  • My mum would love me to build one of these :)

  • Cute as a button, and small as one too!
  • That's brilliant - sounds like a mosquito :))
