I have a lot of work still to do adding graphic controls and mission planning via GSM/google. Both board options have an oboard SD card, both support touch screens, both run at 100mhz from a 5 volt supply. There are some much faster 3.3v versions (with 5 serial) due later this year that will make connecivity simpler.

I will make the source available form my project but you might find it easier to investigate the existing dev tools for your device.
I don't know enough about custom flavours but there are samples and an ARM version to get you going. Would the PDA would need to provide some sort of serial break out for the xbee?
After reading about the google nexus phone I'm looking for a Cortex A8 micro framework port :)
Very nice. I could see this setup in a trailer or a small carry along case with all the remote instruments coupled to your UAV. Very slick. Keep us looped in as it progresses.

I will see how best to use the touch. At the moment it just shows a larger version of the horizon but i plan to have an editable heading and way point system + switching between manual/waypoint/fly by wire.
Fly by wire mode might be useful for a touch system because it just requires the plane to be nudged or touched into a new direction.
I have gsm reasdy to build which should be able to connect to google maps and allow us to program new waypoints using touch.
In addition to bitmap controls I want large fonts to show air speed and other important items.
Other screens and menus to show raw values and anything else anyone can suggest??

Do you plan to use other instruments such as air speed indicator, altitude indicator...?
Do you plan to use the touche screen functionality ? If yes, to do what ?
