Swarm of Quads!

Latest Progress from the Folks at the GRASP Lab

Would love to see what flight control algorithm they're using on these things.

Great picture of the infrared lamps, at the end of the video:

  • Some people like to shoot guns(these are the one running things today in USA)....and some like to fly...MAKE LOVE NOT WAR

  • Lebdog, double post?  What censorship?

  • Wow those are pricey.  No radio included.

  • Check another one, this is awesome too:

  • I should have studied harder when I was in my teens so I could play with quads for a living !

  • Yeah, a hit on the IR sensor could trigger a "controlled fall from the sky".  It's more satisfying than an RTL, since people like seeing feedback to the hit.  A RTL on hit would seem like it got away.

"Real bullets would destroy the drone, and make the sport unsustainable with the cost of replacement drones."

Thanks for pointing that one out buddy, never would have got there myself.

Note to self: Destroying expensive stuff, is.... expensive. Gottit

     :))))
  • Yeah, but not with real bullets, just optical sensors, like laser tag with drones.  Real bullets would destroy the drone, and make the sport unsustainable with the cost of replacement drones.

  • Yes, I'd pay good money to shoot down drones, as a sport.  Kind of like skeet shooting, with intelligent clay pigeons.

silly.... having them moving as if they were playing the arcade game would/should not trigger the wrath from google/youtube censorship!

can you imagine... a "real" simulator for Space Invaders!!  you have the top quads moving left/right and a quad turret "shooting"  at them (infra red tag game).  the "invaders" would go down when hit and that would be the first thing I program out of this expensive motion capture super system!

Guys if you are reading our posts please do it! :) hahaha
