Trent has started his cross USA trip.

I have the utmost respect for this young man, he is everything we should be around here. The true spirit of DIYD. I have followed him with great interest since he started the journey towards the cross country flight. Its worth reminding ourselves of where he was at in 2011.

I don't mean to be a downer about it, Trent. You really are breaking new ground here and it is quite amazing. You are on the bleeding edge of this tech - don't let a crash(es) like this hold you back! I look forward to your Grand Canyon or where ever else you fly.

  • Really ambitious attempt Trent,

Seems like you actually made it quite a way, would you mind publishing a map showing your actual achievement.

I actually think that at this stage of development making it from one State border to the other would be a major accomplishment.

    Best Regards,

What a bummer. He sells planes, right? Why didn't he have a dozen in stock to do on-the-fly replacements?

  • Sad, but understandable.

  • Godspeed Trent

It would be nice to have a map of the continental United States showing his cumulative progress, and perhaps some highlights such as miles/kilometers covered each day.

Great work Team Trent! Keep up the good work we're rooting for you!

  • What a great adventure. Best of luck and have fun.

  • Poor guy got burnt to a crisp on the first day! Best of luck Trent,

  • Good work Gary, I was considering doing an update on Trent's behalf also.  He is going to be too busy to scratch himself for the coming week (or more).

Anyone looking to keep up with the teams progress should visit this page where you will find regular updates via twitter feed and a glimpse into excitement via ustream.

  • Best of luck and no pressure....enjoy the trip!
