I got to try the skyzone 3d fpv goggles after making my own wide 3D camera for my plane, and get to see 3D at a longer distance than normal. It's kind of cool :)
Too bad the skyzone goggles can only record 2D :-/ (so I have no cool 3D video to share).
Anyway, this is my review of the Skyzone SKY02 V3 AIO 3D FPV Goggles, which I got to supplement my Skyzone Dual Antenna FPV Goggle V2 on my blog: http://marc.merlins.org/perso/rc/post_2015-12-01_Flying-3D-FPV-with-Skyzone-3D-FPV-Goggles.html

Try an Oculus Rift, it has a much wider FoV making the feeling of being inside the aircraft much stronger. But, with the resolution it has it can easily simulate FatSharks, HeadPlays, SkyZones, etc. by displayng the image scaled down to use 20-30% of the screen width.
I use the following script (2D video) to do all the screen setup for the Oculus, scaling and forwarding the actual video to the goggles, recording, inhibiting the screen saver and handling some keyboard shortcuts: https://github.com/balrog-kun/fpv-stream-to-vr and there are two forks (https://github.com/balrog-kun/fpv-stream-to-vr/network) of people who've modified it in different ways for 3D FPV.
Thanks Muhammad, that's some premium work as you can see :)
But more seriously, the brotronics diversity LRS receiver has a 100mW sender for telemetry, and sending that next to my analog video cables obviously causes some problems :)
I'm digging the wire shielding :)
The higher you fly, the less effect you get. I'm thinking about trying to put one camera on each wingtip for fun, that would give me even more 3D separation, but basically if you're flying over the ground at altitude, don't expect any 3D effect with normal camera separation.
thats what I figured, thanks! GReat work!!
awesome! But when flying high in open sky what kind of 3d effect do you really get?
