Altitude from GPS

Hi all,I thought that you can get altitude data from gps - but looking over documentation (NMEA sentence data) for EM-406A SiRF III , I can't find any reference to it. Am I mistaken or just blind?Thanks

Try the $GPGGA sentence that has the MSL altitude in metres.
