Altitude hold tuning

Hello, I own an APM 2.6 flight controller. Really cool piece of technology. I have it flying pretty well, IMO. Only thing im curious about tweaking, and a bit apprehensive, is altitude hold tuning. Altitude hold mode works mostly perfectly, except when I fly forward fast. It looses altitude with high speed. Is this normal? is this something I need to tune? If so how do i go about tuning altitude hold? or are there other solutions?

    It's possible you're hitting the max performance available from your power system.  Can you do the same thing in stabilize mode without losing altitude?

    Reduce max allowed pitch/roll. You are most likely getting to an angle where there's too little downward thrust left..
