ArducopterNG usable ?

Hi !

My Quad  already flies with Arducopter_alpha_RC1 software, but without activating GPS nor magnetometer that are mounted on quad (but not supported by this SW release).

=> Do you know if ArduCopterNG is already capable to be installed to fly, even with small limitations ? (and which one ?)

Or should I wait for the official release (but when ???)

Thanks for your help,

Gilles

  • I'm not sure what the release strategy is for the official Arducopter code is - but perhaps it would be helpful apply the stable/testing/unstable model as used successfully by Debian. Unstable would be a cut of NG which at least compiles and flies. This may make it easier to engage the pool of alpha testers, who are willing to risk a quad on the latest drop, but perhaps do not want to be bothered with the checkout/compile/sanity test step.
  • is NG safe to try tho???

Please wait for the official release, which will be in a week or two. It may not be NG--we have another code base that's better integrated with the full APM code, waypoint navigation and support utilities that we may release first.
