ArduIMU+ with PTZ Camera

I'm new at all of this, but I want to be able to create a stabilized camera for aerial photography while also sending GPS coordinates of the rcplane's current location. I found out about the ArduPilot and thought it was a good idea to use it to control a camera instead of a plane, however, I would just need an IMU right? So i found the ArduIMU+. Would this be all I need to implement my system? How would I interface  the ArduIMU+ with the GPS? Also I already have an AVR ISP MKII to connect Arduino boards to my computer's USB, would I still need the FTDI cable?

Here's my current part list:
ArduIMU+ Flat
FTDI Cable
EM406 Interface Cable
20Ch EM406A SiRF III Receiver w/Antenna
Spark Fun Intermediate Tool Kit

LynxMotion Pan Tilt Servo Kit

If you look at ArduIMU+ you'll see that GPS is built-in. Just plug GPS module into the connector; parser will handle the rest. You can program it with the AVR ISP, but it's a hassle. and you won't be able to use any of the ArduIMU desktop utilities, which depend on serial output.
