Connecting Servos and Reciver (Newbie question)

Hello,

i have read the manual but cannot find out how to connect a reciver to the board.
I see there are connectors on the board named: in 1,2,3,4 and out 1,2,3,4
There is also an CTRL on the side of the in 1,2,3,4

The reciver recives the signal and has to be connected to the board somehow.
The Servos are connected to the board not the reciver correct?

  • Hey Doug, thanks for this information, I couldn't find it in the manual anywhere, did I miss it? Is there anything more I need to know about connecting the servos, should I connect ailerons and rudder, or just one?

If this is discused elsewhere could you post the link?
    cheers.

    John,

You need to connect (at least) channels 1 and 2 from the receiver to the inputs 1 and 2 on ArduPilot. You also need to connect a channel for a mode switch. Most people use channel 5 or 7 from your receiver depending on the radio type.

You connect your roll servo (aileron or rudder or a Y to both) to the #1 output and your elevator servo to output 2.

You can connect your ESC or throttle servo directly to your receiver, in which case it will be manual only, or you can connect it through input and output 3 on ArduPilot. In the latter case you need to add a couple of jumper wires on the ArduPilot board

There is currently no support for using input and output 4
