Connection question

Hello, i have the seen there is a new complete manual for the arduPilot out. I have started to build the board and shield with the old manuals, now i have made everything like in the new one.My question is where do i put the 5 pin FMA sensor cable i made in the old manual for the arudPilot.I have seen that the shield i have is a bit different from the one shown in the compele manual. I quess the connector which is missing on the bottom side is for the FMA? Can somebody tell me how to connect it right? On the Ardu pilot the labeling is Batt + and -Analog 1, 2 and 3, on the shield it is GND, 5V,A3, A2, A1. How do they match?

  • Thank you!
  • The connectors on the shield bottom are indeed for the XYZ sensors. Jordi has a special connector and cable he sells in the shield complete kit. Since I ordered the shield alone, I didn't have this special connector at hand, so I used a regular bent male 5 pins header instead. One could also solder pigtails there if wished.
    I inferred the connection wiring from the 2.2 code, sensor tab:
    * analog0 = roll infrared.
    * analog1 = pitch infrared.
    * analog2 = z sensor.
    So I am quite certain A3 is Z, A2 is pitch and A1 is roll.
    If someone disagrees on this, please let us know what's wrong. Else, I hope it helps. And for sure, this could be added in the manual for those not using the "official" connector.
  • Can nobody help me and tell me how to connect the Ir Sensors to the ArduPilot shield?
