Controlling drone using Pixhawk through Python script?

Is there any way to control the drone using Pixhawk? I am using Odroid XU4 as a companion computer. I have tried using DroneKit but it is giving me some error at "Pre-Arm checks" e.g. "Waiting for vehicle to initialize."

Is there any other way to do it? I am stuck with this problem since 3 weeks.

Yes, you can control it fully, using mavlink /guided mode, Google for dronekit.
