Deadzone for alt-hold issue

When I go into alt hold mode from a hover state, I am only a few millimeters away from the top of the throttle 'dead zone' which controls the height of the alt-hold.

The problem is if I am giving it a little more throttle than usual and then go into alt-hold the copter shoots straight up because i am above the dead zone.

I noticed in the code the dead zone is set between 20 and 80 percent throttle, so it seems easy to fix (just raise it to 90%).  Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or maybe it is a barometer issue instead etc..

  • have you calibrated the ESC ???

  • You should really be hovering at close to 50% throttle if possible. Is there anyway you can get more lift - such as going up a cell on your batteries, or using bigger props or motors? If it just hovers at 90% throttle i doubt very much whether you will be able to slow it down very well in a fast decent.
