Hey guys!
Complete and utter noob here. I am looking for a suitable ESC for the EMAX RS2205 2300kv BLDC mounted on a Martian II 220mm frame. I already have a Pixhawk PX4 2.4.7 and plan on using that. I will be using the drone for indoor videos and/ or target tracking.
I had shortlisted the Emax BLHeli Series 30A ESC, but saw a lot of people posting about issues with it(esp. on YouTube). As of now, i need a solution which works out of the box and want to avoid the nitty-gritty of the firmware etc.(I also read that EMAX ESCs may face issues with the Pixhawk FC)
I would be immensely helpful if someone could suggest a suitable ESC which comes with the firmware pre-flashed.

There is an 'SB' port beside the 'RC' port(both are part of the servo rail).
Why should i connect to the 'SB' port and not the 'RC' ?
Also, i am assuming that i will have to use a Zener diode as described here(https://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-powering-the-pixhawk.html#...) when powering the servo rail?
And is it possible to initialize and set the ESC parameters using the QGS Ground Control station alone, i.e., without using an RX and TX?

ESC:
(i) Yeah, i looked it up and Mission Planner and QGC can callibrate the ESCs. Also, the Dshot protocol allows ESCs to be used without callibration.
(ii) There is also something called ESC parameter tuning(different than FC parameter tuning/ trimming). If as a beginner, my aim is to get the quad flying and to control it to perform simple manoeuvres, is that a necessary step?
Or the parameters' default value will allow me to start flying?
Powering the Receiver:
(i) I will be powering the receiver using the UBEC and the UBEC is supposed to be connect to the Power Distribution Board. Am i correct here?

The "RC" port is the PPM RC input and the "SB" port is the PPM output. Zener diode is not required because you will not be powering the Pixhawk from the rail. You will be powering the Pixhawk from the Power Module. For large aircraft I also provide backup power to the USB port.
As a beginner, I would suggest you use Mission Planner rather than QGroundControl. You can "calibrate" the ESCs via Mission Planner.
