Failsafe Problems with 35mhz Futaba T9CP

I have run into a problem when trying to get failsafe to work with my Futaba T9CP 35mhz Tx and  FP-R138DF Rx.

I have set the parameters correctly however, there is so much interference once I switch the Tx off that failsafe will not initialise.  All of the channels fluctuate a lot including 3 (throttle used for failsafe) and 8 (used for flightmode selection).  This has the  effect of the APM switching between flight modes randomly - a fine recipe for a crash if I were to fly out of Tx range.

Can anyone suggest a fix for this or have I just chosen the wrong Tx/Rx for what I want to achieve?  (My choice of 35mhz was made at an early stage because I read that range was a strongpoint AND I am in the UK so 2.4Ghz video Tx is my preference).

P.S.  My Mavlink OSD stopped working tonight as well.  Think I may have fried it as I never checked VCC was <5.25V... you live and learn!

  • No luck with your receiver,

If you want FailSafe with classic Futaba radio, you have to go to PCM receiver.

    • Thankyou Marc,

I purchased an R149 PCM rx and failsafe works perfectly now.

      :)

      • Thanks for the feedback,

        Marc
