Geotagging images using two different options.

I took pictures with drone and tried geotagging with mission planner.

32 pictures have recorded

yet

when i use 'time offset' option, it returns 31 pic. and when i use 'cam message' option it returns 32 pics

i believe the cam message option is correct but the gps logs of the two are different (see the attached pic.)

when I set the elevation on Mission planner, i set to 100 meters.

and the other day, i took 99 pics and geotagging was failed with 'cam message' option

because gps log said i am supposed to have 132 images. but when i use 'time offset', it looked alright.

I am still confused when should I use time offset or cam message..

can anyone give me a hint?

  • I had an issue with MP geotagging for the first time in 2 years. I decided yesterday to record both JPG and RAW in camera, and it resulted in 20 or so missing pictures against my 160 CAM messages. So it failed with in geotag routine with cam message option on my side too. Time offset do not give me confidence either.

I resolved my problem by using Geosetter software. Very good tool who give you real control and views of what you are doing. You give it the path to your pictures, the gpx file from your log, the time shift between camera and GPS, and here you are ! You can visualize old and new  exif data, picture preview and location on map.Super apllication.

    • I appreciate it!
i'll try to use it and let you know how it works!
