Greetings,

I have a Pixhawk flight computer on my quad and want to take advantage of it's shutter control.  To date, we've been using a GoPro and just leaving it in a simultaneous video and pic mode to do photos and videos.  I'd really like to mess around with the Tower app and shutter control so I'm looking for an alternative camera that either has a shutter bus or is easy to hack.  I've seen the GoPro hacks but I don't want to risk frying a $400 camera.  Also, I'm a little pissed at 3DR and GoPro for purposefully making wired shutter control nearly impossible in DIY builds without a major hack.  I use both their products but I'm not going to be forced into a very expensive Solo for 1 little feature.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

BTW...I use a generic gimbal balanced for a GoPro so a similar weight/form factor would be nice if possible.

Thank You!

Mike

Hang in there, Michael, and keep us posted on any innovations.
