Got the Arducopter flying!

I'm amazed, after a day of assembly and two days of configuration and figuring stuff out, I had my first flights today - works great. One thing I learned is not to turn the transmitter off with the motors armed! It didn't get far ;-)

Very stable, running the latest (2.18 I think).

  • Fantastic Jim,
I too had my first flight today - half a world way in Australia
My stock standard arducopter (if such a thing exits) with a 2200 mAh lipo got me about 10 mins before throttle response got a bit soft and I called it a day
    Running 2.0.17

  • Dunno Jani, but it's very much like a standard Arducopter, nothing added, I flew it eight separate flights for a total of 16 minutes, one flight on baro hold was over 5 minutes, that was the last flight, the copter settled to the ground on baro hold and I shut it off, that was the end of the battery. It's a new battery.

Video rendering now, will be up momentarily on rofldrone.com.

Nice to hear! I think we're almost ready to release the final version.
