Hardware Requirement/Limitation to Lift Camera

Is there a way of calculating the hardware required e.g. esc Amps, motor etc to lift a given weight.

for example a safe load including the weight of the quad for my X650 is 1.8kg which includes battery etc, however I would like to attach a small DSLR which would top the weight to 2.1Kg.

Does any one know how I can calculate the required ESC Amp etc ?
