Good day!  My setup is: H-Quad, PixHawk with X8R, MultiStar 2216 motors, QBrain 4in1 25A ESC

During calibration, when setting the min point, it will just do nothing and wait forever. But when I increased the throttle, at about 40%, it beeps and signaled that it got the minimum point and calibration is done.

The MOT_SPIN_ARMED is already set to 70 and also tried 100 but motors will not spin after arming.  I have to push the throttle to about 40% before it spins.  Hover is at 55% throttle.  The 15% difference is very narrow in controlling the descend of the aircraft.

In radio calibration, the PWM values for channel 3 (throttle) are 982 to 2000+.

What do I adjust to bring the throttle down?

Thanks!

    This sounds like the

    1. Trim on your transmitter is not centered. Is it?
    2. maybe there is some crazy expo function on your throttle ch. i turn all expos off on my set up

After centering your trim and re-calibrating your ESC, I would also check THR_MID and THR_MIN parameters. Do one at a time and test in between to nail down the problem.

    • That still sounds like the trim on your transmitter. Just to confirm, you have centered it, right?

It seems as though we have simply found a band-aid for your problem and not the source of the issue.

can you post your .param file? you can save it by going to "Full Parameter List" and clicking Save on the right side.

      • I have replaced the ESCs (QBrain 4-in-1 to Afro) and now it is now working.  I may have misconfigured the previous ESC when I got confused with the beeps.

        Thanks again.

        • If you're using the Quadro ESCs, I'd advise you to buy a SiLabs ToolStick and reprogram them with BLHeli. The GUI allows you to set min/max pwm values and min_command on each ESC.

          • Thanks Para, i will flash the my 4-in-1 ESC to BLHeli.

    • Thanks Ted.  What I did was increase the THR_MIN to 160 and it now spins at 30%.  However, hover is now a little below 50%.

Another issue is that the motors is not spinning during arming even though MOT_SPIN_ARMED is set to "very fast" in the advance parameters.
