Help with Video Tx/Rx and Telemetry !

Hello!

I am currently in a group project building an UAV and I am required to find a camera system that will work for our UAV design. I have a max budget of £100 and I need help. The problem is that we are using a Xbee module as our telemetry system for our Ardupilot and it uses the 2.4Ghz band. From what I know it quite likely that if I use a 2.4 Ghz camera Tx/Rx it will have interference with the XBee.

I got the problem as I am not allow to use the 900Mhz and the 1.2Ghz range ( I am studying in UK- UK restrictions wont allow the use of 900 Mhz and 1.2Ghz ) . The only possible solutions left is either somehow use my Xbee to send video/picture or use a 5.8Ghz Tx/Rx .Problem with a 5.8Ghz is that it very expensive and I have a Max budget for the camera systems of £100.Can anyone give me some suggestion and help ? I been searching forums for couples of days finding solutions and still not getting close. A possible solutions is using a camera and compressed images to UART but I have no idea how to do this or is it possible with the Ardupilot.

I apologizes that if this question appear quite a number of times but each time I find that there really isnt any solutions to the similar questions post in forums around so I hope soemone could help me out with this.

Thanks!

Rocky

I check the Bevr Tx/Rx before. The only problem is that legally we only allow to use up till 25mW which isnot possible with the Bevr as it transmit at 200mW which is way over the legal limit.

    Thanks for the suggestions though!

  • Try Low Power Radio Solutions EasyRadio modules (http://www.tryeasyradio.com/easy-radio-product-selector.html) working on 433MHz - a valid band for aerial telemetry in the UK.

  • Wasn't complaining ip9!

    :)

  • It's the same system!

Foxtexch, BEVRC etc they all use the same basic supplier I imagine, although the Foxtech sticker is prettier :)

PS, if you go for one of these, check the wiring!!!!!! The colours are often in the wrong place!!!!!

  • hobbyking also have a 5.8Ghz system (waiting on one myself to try)

in the mean time, a quick look on google turned up this which may be of interest
