  • hey guys i updated my code and it is running sweet
but i have only flow it for 30 secs

  • Good question,

My quad on AC2 default PIDS is wobbly.

I tried adjusting PIDS starting with stable damper but not much change so went to P and lowering it helped but at the cost of stability. I tried moving "D" both ways and the quad became unflyable with just one point either direction from 0, the neg side resulted in a immediate flip?
Very little in the wiki as to PID adjustment so it is a guessing game.

I stopped with the ch 1&2 EPA turned down and P of 4.8 and that was flyable but not OK so looking for better results.

Next I will probably have to try smaller props which I think will settle it down but it will be at the cost of efficiency.

  • I solved my oscillations by increasing the "stabilize damp" contrary to what it is believed.
When the stab_damp is too low it will not react fast enough to counter react and this leads to oscillations.
So make some tests with the copter in your hand with very low rpm. When it is too low and you try to move sideway you will fell the copter oscillating.
Contrary when you increase the stab_damp you will fell the copter reacting strong to your movements.
    Hope this helps.

  • yeh it is default i hae changed D setting still oscillates either way i go.
the wiki says to change stabilize kD

i went lower on stabilize D and it got worse.
  • It is also linked to prop dia and pitch. Large fine pitch props produce more lift efficiency and faster response, so need less D

Try lowering "stabilize damp" as well if you don't make headway with those settings...
  • thx jason ill try it soon
it is normal to go into the -??

Not much to go on. I'll guess, you mean from the default?  Have you changed STABILIZE_ROLL_D and STABILIZE_PITCH_D? Try a smaller value.
