Hi and thank you for looking at my post. I'm planning to immediately DIY an FPV quadcopter with advanced features and sensors and need some help. The purpose of this project is to develop my skills further as I aspire to be a UAV/drone service technician and developer.
I want to make this drone as complicated as possible while still being very practical and within a 1000$ budget. I'd prefer commonly used parts/hardware as i want to be familiar with what most people are using.
If someone can recommend a suitable build or a list of components i would be very appreciative. Not looking to build the average race drone. I'm looking for some advice on what sensors and features are useful or commonly sought after as well. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks Alot -Rafi

You dont have a BEC.
You dont have a charger for the battery.
You dont have a GPS.
You ... like to have more then 1 battery.
You need a data link on 433MHz to get telemetry.
You need a laptop (and sunshade) to do map / telemetry / config in the field.
You are looking at 8,5 minut flyingtime at 2500grams and 5,7 att 3500grams. You can do beter:
membership on https://www.ecalc.ch/xcoptercalc.php is only 1-usd for 1yr now
Try to go to 10" or 12" props.
Make the frame folding. Do not use carbon fiber (its to expenseiv and the dust give you cancer).
Do you have a car? How big is the car door? This drone is 800mm + props.
You need extra propellers (4 to 10?), ESC (1) and motors (1).
Personally, I really like to build from the most basic parts available, getting to make more complex parts yourself. It's more difficult and time-consuming, but also feels a lot more rewarding and saves more time. I bought most of the cheap electronics online at besttechexpert.guide, though they seem to be reworking their site right now.

I have issues with hobby king as well but with them selling fake goods....there costumer services is fare I have found the only give store credit back! If it was not for them most of us would be paying a lot more for or RC stuff! Here in the US there is a big monopoly by HORIZON they own almost all the brans....
I should point out that comparing prices in this way some times is a waste of time ! because some shops incorporate shipping charges in to price , or part of the shipping charge ! So the only price that matters is final prices shipped ! most people only look at advertised price because it is lower.
shipping on this radio should be around $60USD international !
The new one has the new hall sensor gimbals , as well as water transfer pattern !
