Mapping Crops Using Arducopter

Hello all!
I was just wondering if any of you had any tips on mapping vineyards and other crops using the Arducopter?
I have been using the mission planner and setting the copter to loiter for the first few waypoints hoping that my copter could get up to altitude (200 Meters was entered into the default Alt.)

It gets to about 130 metres and will not go any higher for some reason, and realistically I need the copter to go about 300 meters high to map quite big crops

do any of you have any tips for me when it comes to getting the Arducopter to get to quite high altitudes?

and also what would be a good example of the capable range so I dont over step it and create a disaster

Thank you very much for any answers

Is your barometer covered? Sun light and wind will mess with it. Are you using a ground station to track your flights? A ground station helps with in field tuning and adjustments.
