Mode switch mixing

Can anyone offer some help with mixing across 2, 2 position switches for mode select?  The ArduPilot manual just says "refer to your radio's manual", but when I did, it looks like I maybe can't.  I'm running a JRXP662 for helicopter and airplane.  It does a ton of custom mixing, but none of it appears to mix multiple controls into single outputs.  They all seem to mix the ouotputs to be affected by multiple controls, ie, rudder AND ailerons when moving rudder stick.
1- Am I simply missing something obvious because I've never tried it before?
2-I have an external mixer for elevons, would that help me any?
3-How hard is it to mod the switch select line of code for only "off" and RTL"

Thanks,
Tim

  • ok, I have 3 positions now.......I used an external. I tried, but my radio doesn't have the fancy screen. :( I gave up after about 30 minutes. The external elevon mixer worked first try (with clean mix settings). I talked to a buddy, who has done JR mixing after that, and I think I might remove and try again. He said I need to set up not one, but TWO mixes. Set up channel 5 as master, with 6 as slave, but then go back in (i can have 3 custom mixes) and set up 6 as master, with 5 as slave. The elevon mix works as double mixing, so I bet that works.

Thanks for the advice, we wouldn't have made it this far without it.

  • Try looking for mix flaps with gear. I have a DX6i and used gear and flap switches to form a three position output on channel 5. What did prove handy was using a monitor channel screen on my TX to see the effect of the various edits to the mix controls.
