I have upgraded to APM 2.2.1 via APM planner.

I am running two XBees 2.4Ghz at 57600 and they work great in loop back, not one dropped packet.

All config is default.

When I try to connect using the latest version of HKGCS I get the startup messages, but then I only get the Mavlink heartbeat, I don't get any GPS, attitude or other data.

I'm pretty sure I've changed something, but I can't think for the life of me what. I've tried two laptops and a stock new installation of HK GCS.

Appreciate any help.

have you checked your GCS transmission rates.

I had a similar problem some days ago with APM-MP. Problem is now fixed on latest codes and they are changing those rates automatically.

I was able to see raw sensor output but not actual AH/Gauges etc. Let me know if you have similar problems

  • Hi Peter,

Ive tracked this down to an intermittent fault, probably thermal.

Will report back. Ps they are series 1.

    Thanks all,

    Dave
  • I am using Xbee Pro ver 2 and there has been a thread elsewhere about setting them up on this forum. I did as suggested and it worked for me and I could use HK's GCS and planner.

Which version of Xbee do you have (ver 1,2 or 2.5)?

  • Hi Paul,

Do you mean the attitude, gps and waypoint tabs?

Ive dialled them all down to 1 and back up again,

    No luck.
  • Xbee pro 2.4 will not work above 38400 without lost packets. At 57600 you should see some successful messages coming through. Try clicking one the combos on the serial tab and change it to anything else. See if that helps
  • Hi Ritchie,

I thought it was 57600 now? Thats what the wiki says.

I beliebe the US guys couldnt run their 900 Xbees at 115200.

    Happy to be wrong?

  • Hi Peter,

I have a solid blue on the MediaTek.

I have a solid red on the IMU.

If I turn the plane off I get a WARNING LOST CONNECTION verbal message, so the plane is definately transmitting back.

I've tred this 20 or so times, resetting the APM etc, no joy.

    Regards

    Dave

  • Default transmission from APM is 115200 have you set it in the config?
  • Don't think you get any real data until you have GPS lock. Are you sure you have waited long enough for lock?
