I've finally gotten to the point of getting FPV to work on my Y6. But the problem is the OSD does not display correctly.
My OSD is about 1 or 2 years old. My Y6, Gimbal and OSD are 3DR products. I've updated the OSD to the latest firmware. Not sure if my OSD can work with the latest firmware? The pictures attached show first what I expect from the OSD and second what I'm getting. You can see in the second picture there is some text, but it's mostly just garbage. I also noticed a picture of camera and v 1.0 in the middle of the screen. Not sure what the camera or v 1.0 means? I have disable the OSD output from my GoPro.
Any idea what I can do to fix this?
Thanks,
Richard Boyhan

-there is no change in microcontroller/or the MAX IC that overlays video, so your "older" OSD is not problem.
-1.0 is a part of spash screen from an older version. - it's not always updated, but I think there were newer after "1.0" - and that would suggest old charset.
Make sure you flash charset and firmware from the latest "minimosd-extra", and if it fail to work then, you may suspect hardware failure.
FYI: the MAX7456 based OSD's have always two things that need flashing/programming : 1: the MAX7456 itself, contain the character set (usually unchanged on minor version updates) and then the microcontroller, that does the communication and actually tells OSD chip what to display.
ok, you've done everything you could, I think your MAX7456 is defective.
I went flying this morning and used my telemetry cable and the OSD text appeared. Apparently my problem was I using my USB cable to test with and not the telemetry. Now I have OSD text, but the data does not update. Wonder why?
