PixRacer with Ardupilot

This is a discussion to focus the feedback and support of ardupilot on the PixRacer board from AUAV.co.

We believe that all teething problems encountered are now resolved and so we recommend people load Copter-3.3.4 which is available for all multicopters through the Mission Planner's (and other GCS's) Install Firmware screens.  Note that because regular Pixhawks are still on Copter-3.3.3 the install icon may show Copter-3.3.3 but rest assured, Copter-3.3.4 will be installed (you can check the version by looking at the very top of the Mission Planner).

  • Thank you for your reply.

I knew the video, but it is no so simple to do it!

If I have a decent set of PID I can enable the AutoTune mode.

Or if it is possible to convert the PX4 PID to Arducopter PID the problem will be solved!

If somebody know this possibility it will be very appreciated.

    thanks to all

  • Hello to all,

I built a Robocat 270 with Pixracer and Emax 2205 and propellers 5045.
By charging PX4 with ZMR250 configuration, the drone flies decently.
However, I would like to go to Ardupilot because it is the platform I know best.
Unfortunately, with default PIDs, the drone flies very badly, but it is almost impossible to take off.
What PIDs I could try to have at least the ability to activate auto tune?
    Thank you

  • @Phillip Kocmoud : don't know where to ask because of http://auav.com/contact.php not functionnal (impossible to submit question > 'bad format' on email field for a valid email! ). For now, European customer must buy

For now, European customer must buy there Pixracer on mRO (exact ?) ? Thats mean must pay shipping cost from US to France + customs (= approx 60$ at minima)? I didn't find any distributor of your Genuine board here.

I try to make an order on mRO to see if there are some options for europe but stopped on shipping cost...

  • Hi there,

I used to supply my PixRacer via my 4-in-1 ESC 5v UBEC.

But within ArduCopter log it is 4.6v. Meassuring by multimeterat it is 4.8v. The only good thing is that the voltage level is stable.

    - Have read many times that it is important to keep 5v. But what are the actual possible promlems if my voltage is about 4.8-4.6 volts?

    - Is that converter suitable to supply Pixracer? Mini DC Voltage Step-Down Regulator (D-SUN)
